about

36. Tweedside (with Ryan Kirk)
Robert Bremner (and his brother James) wrote a Guitar tutorial, the first one published in Scotland, Tweed Side is one of several tunes that appear in numerous collections printed by Bremner and others throughout the Eighteenth Century. Ryan Kirk of Nova Scotia offered to play through several of the tunes on Guitar for the Podcast. The tune Tweed Side didn't hook me until listening to Ryan's performance, and I was happy to add a whistle track to it.
Bremner's Guitar Tutorial is hosted here: robmackillop.net/guitar/18th-century-wire-strung-guittar/robert-bremner/
