35. The Stool of Repentance
This setting comes from William Dixon's 1733 Border Pipe Repertoire.
I played this tune while thinking about descriptive pieces. In my performance I am trying to channel the Parson completely losing his temper as he chastises a pour soul sitting on the black stool where sinners would be shamed in Kirks.
