about

33. Crosswell of Edinburgh & The Watermen’s Rant
These two tunes come from Bremner's 1769 collection of Scottish Country Dance Tunes. I've been fascinated by the water carriers from Edinburgh since first seeing David Allan's Paintings of the Uniformed men hoofing kegs of water up and around the Royal Mile.
