about

7. Blue Britches & Oyster Wives Rant
Robert Bremner's setting for both tunes appears in his collection of Scots Reels and Country Dances. The copy in the National Library of Scotland was published in London (after 1762) but I have seen elsewhere that Bremner first published this collection in Edinburgh in 1757.
I was rather impressed with how nice a tune Oyster Wives Rant is on both Uilleann and Highland Pipes.
