about

5. A Rock and a wi Pickle Tow
This is William McGibbon's setting, but this is another tune that shows up in several manuscripts across the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and remains popular today.
This setting comes from William McGibbon’s A Collection of Scots Tunes, Some with Variations for A VIOLIN HAUTBOY of GERMAN FLUTE with a Bass for a Violoncello or Harpsichord (Volume III) digital.nls.uk/special-collections-of-printed-music/archive/105870582
I first played this tune (and a few other settings) on Season 4 Episode 17: www.wetootwaag.com/s4e17
